Louisiana Department proposes new rule on petitions for declaratory orders

The Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry has announced its intention to introduce a new rule, LAC 7:I.111, aimed at establishing a framework for petitions for declaratory orders and rulings. This initiative aligns with R.S. 49:977.4 and outlines the process through which interested parties can submit such petitions to the department or any associated public body.

According to the notice, "The proposed rule provides the mechanism and procedure by which interested persons may submit a petition for declaratory order to the department or to any public body created within it."

This Notice of Intent will be featured in the March 2025 edition of the State Register. Stakeholders are invited to share their written feedback, including comments, data, opinions, and arguments concerning this proposed rule. Submissions should be addressed to Amy L. McInnis at the Department of Agriculture & Forestry located at 5825 Florida Blvd., Suite 2000, Baton Rouge, LA 70806. The deadline for receiving these submissions is set for April 10, 2025, no later than 4:00 p.m., with all entries required to be signed and dated.
