The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced a traffic shift related to the ongoing LA 1026 widening and roundabout project at US 190 in Denham Springs, Louisiana. This development involves moving traffic onto a newly constructed roundabout roadway and removing the existing traffic signal to facilitate continued work.
In recent days, over 2,500 tons of asphalt have been laid as part of the project. Crews are scheduled to work overnight on Thursday and Friday from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., focusing on restriping the intersection for the new configuration. During this period, lane restrictions may occur, prompting residents to consider alternative routes if they wish to avoid potential delays.
According to DOTD, once completed, the project will result in a widened Juban Road between US 190 and I-12, including a finished roundabout at US 190 and Juban Road. It will also feature access circles for businesses and residents along Juban Road and complete restriping.
DOTD has issued a safety reminder urging drivers to proceed cautiously through the construction area and remain vigilant for workers and equipment present on-site.
