The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced the commencement of a $5.03 million construction project on La. 10 in St. Landry Parish. The work is set to begin on Monday, February 3, 2025, and will focus on resurfacing and improving drainage structures along a 4.7-mile section from Little Wauksha Bridge to U.S. 71.
The project includes various tasks such as borrow work, cross drain pipe installation, precast concrete box culverts, asphalt removal, milling asphalt pavement, pavement patching, asphalt concrete overlay, and related activities.
Drivers should anticipate intermittent lane closures necessary for the work and potential delays. Construction is scheduled from Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., contingent on weather conditions.
There will also be planned full road closures during the project for drainage structure installations across the roadway. DOTD will issue press releases regarding these closures, with detour routes provided.
Emergency vehicles will maintain access except during planned full road closure events.
Completion of this project is anticipated by December 2025.
"DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment."
