The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced a scheduled closure of the left lane on I-10 westbound. The closure will start at 9 p.m. on Friday and end at 5 a.m. on Sunday. This measure is necessary for maintenance work on the joints of the Ward Creek Bridge, located between the I-10/I-12 split and the College Drive exit.
Motorists should anticipate changes in traffic patterns as the project progresses towards completion. In its final form, I-12 westbound will be rerouted beneath the I-10 overpass at the I-10/I-12 split. Further details about this transition will be provided soon.
Upon completion, the College Flyover project aims to offer drivers heading to College Drive a two-lane ramp that is separated from other interstate traffic lanes. For more information regarding this project, individuals are encouraged to visit www.collegeflyover.com.
The DOTD reminds drivers to remain cautious and attentive while navigating through construction zones, emphasizing adherence to posted signs and speed limits for safety reasons.
