The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has issued an update regarding weather-related closures on state highways across Louisiana. Travelers are advised that road conditions can change quickly, and roads may close unexpectedly if deemed unsafe.
A list of current closures as of January 24, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. includes several parishes:
- In Ascension Parish, I-10 eastbound is closed between U.S. 61 and U.S. 51.
- Jefferson Parish sees LA 3139 (Earhart Expressway) shut between Dickory Avenue and Hamilton Street.
- Orleans Parish has partial openings with one lane open in each direction on U.S. 90B on the Crescent City Connection. Other sections of U.S. 90B remain closed.
- St. Charles Parish reports partial openings on I-310 between U.S. 90 and LA 48.
- In St. John the Baptist Parish, I-10 is closed in both directions between U.S. 51 and U.S. 190B.
Motorists are urged to avoid travel unless absolutely necessary, as driving around a barricade is both illegal and unsafe.
