The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced the start of a construction project on La. 758 (Woodstone Rd.) in Evangeline and St. Landry Parishes. The $4.6 million project is set to begin on Friday, March 14, 2025, covering the stretch from US 190 (Ronald Reagan Dr.) to La. 29 (Chataignier Rd.).

The scope of the work involves a range of activities including milling asphaltic concrete, subgrade treatment, in-place base rehabilitation, patching, asphalt overlay, installation of rumble strips, striping, and other related tasks over a span of 3.2 miles.

Construction will occur Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., depending on weather conditions. Motorists should anticipate intermittent lane closures which may lead to delays. Regular traffic will be maintained with a maximum lane restriction of 12 feet for oversized loads passing through the work zone. Emergency vehicles will have access but might face delays.

The completion date for this project is projected for August 2025.

In light of these developments, DOTD urges drivers to exercise caution while navigating the construction area and remain vigilant for workers and equipment.

To assist motorists during this period, DOTD offers several resources:

- MyDOTD: By signing up at www.dotd.la.gov, motorists can receive updates on local projects and road closures.

- 511 Traveler Information: Road closure details and traffic information are available at www.511la.org or by dialing 511 from within the state. Out-of-state travelers can call 1-888-ROAD-511 (1-888-762-3511) for assistance.
