GeauxPass has issued a warning to Louisiana residents about a "smishing" scam that is circulating nationwide. The scam involves text messages falsely claiming to be from a tolling agency, urging recipients to pay supposed outstanding tolls.

These fraudulent messages direct individuals to an unauthorized website where they are asked for personal and financial information. GeauxPass emphasizes that it will never request personal information through text messages.

The scammers use web addresses with slight variations or misspellings, such as geauxpass-la.com or geaupass.net, in an attempt to deceive users. The legitimate GeauxPass website is www.geauxpass.com.

To avoid falling victim to online scams, GeauxPass advises the public to carefully check domain names, refrain from logging in if something seems suspicious, delete any scam texts received, secure personal and financial information if compromised, and contact GeauxPass customer service when uncertain.

For further inquiries, individuals can reach out to GeauxPass Customer Service via email at customerservice@geauxpass.com or by calling 866-662-8987.
