The Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced a full overnight closure of the US 90 BUS Harvey Tunnel for utility work. The closure will begin next Monday evening at 7 p.m., with eastbound traffic set to reopen by 6 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
This closure is part of a $55 million rehabilitation project that is more than halfway complete and is expected to conclude by late 2026. During this period, the westbound section of US 90 BUS/Z remains fully closed due to ongoing roadwork.
For those affected by the closure, alternative routes include the Elevated Expressway, US 90 BUS, or 4th Street. Further details and a closure map are available on the DOTD website.
