The Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry has finalized a rule concerning timber harvesting. This action follows the submission of a Notice of Intent during the 2024 Regular Session, in accordance with ACT 214. The notice was filed with the Louisiana State Register, indicating that the department, through its Office of Forestry, planned to adopt regulations LAC 7:XXXIX.1500, 1507, and 1509 related to timber harvesting.
The intention to implement these proposed actions was made public in the Louisiana Register at LR 50:10 on pages 1515-1517, dated October 20, 2024.
Following this publication, the proposed rule was officially adopted as a final rule in the Louisiana Register on January 20, 2024.
