The state Department of Revenue has announced tax deadline extensions for businesses in all 64 parishes affected by Hurricane Francine. The extensions apply to various taxes, but only for those due after September 11.

For individual, fiduciary, and partnership income returns due between September 11, 2024, and February 3, 2025, the new deadline is set for February 3, 2025. Estimated income payments originally due on September 16, 2024, and February 3, 2025, are also extended to February 3, 2025.

Sales taxes with due dates from September 11 to September 30 will now be due on October 20. Withholding taxes initially scheduled between September 11 and September 30 have been postponed until October 31. Severance and excise taxes that were supposed to be paid during the same period will also be due on October 31.

These extensions aim to provide small businesses with additional time to recover from the impact of Hurricane Francine without facing penalties or late fees as they manage their finances during this challenging period.
