The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced a postponement in the planned closure of La. 352 at Cotton Gin Road in St. Martin Parish due to forecasted weather conditions.
Originally scheduled to begin on February 17, 2025, the closure was intended to facilitate the installation of new drainage structures along La. 352, also known as Henderson Highway. The work was expected to last until February 20, weather permitting.
During the closure, traffic was set to be detoured via La. 349 (Nina Hwy) and La. 347 (Grand Point Hwy), with a detour route clearly posted for motorists' convenience. However, emergency vehicles would not have had access through the area during this period.
DOTD emphasized its appreciation for public patience and urged drivers to exercise caution when passing through construction zones, keeping an eye out for workers and their equipment.
