Theatre UNO closes out the fall semester with the production “Is God Is” at the Robert E. Nims Theatre in the Performing Arts Center located on campus. The dark comedy, directed by second-year MFA student R’Myni Watson, opens Nov. 9 and runs through Nov. 19. The play explores a modern myth about twin sisters who sojourn from the “Dirty South” to the California desert to exact righteous revenge against their father. Winner of the 2016 Relentless Award, playwright Aleshea Harris collides the ancient, the modern, the tragic, the spaghetti western, Afropunk and hip-hop in this darkly funny and unapologetic play.
A percentage of all ticket sales will be donated to the effort to rebuild the lives of a University of New Orleans student and their family who lost their home to a fire in September.
