McNeese State University: SGA Gives Students Space. Parking Space.

65

McNeese State University issued the following announcement on April 5.

Last week, senators in the Student Government Association passed a  resolution allotting more parking spaces on campus to students who  commute for class. The parking lot in front of the library is now 60%  faculty and staff parking and 40% student parking, while the Memorial  Gym lot changed to 30% faculty and staff parking and 70% student  parking. Campus parking has long been a point of debate for students.  With this change, SGA hopes student access to academic buildings will  improve greatly.

Alexis Miller, student and graduate assistant, welcomes these new  changes. “Now I can park closer to where I work and can study during my  lunch break in the library without having to fight to find a spot,” she  says, “I hope with these changes students will come to more events and  participate in more student life activities.”
