The University of Louisiana Monroe women’s golf team began play at the NCAA Regionals at Seminole Legacy Golf Club in Tallahassee on May 11. The Warhawks, seeded ninth, are competing for a chance to advance to the national championship in Carlsbad, California. The tournament will be played over three days and will consist of 54 holes, with the top five teams moving forward.
This appearance marks ULM’s second trip to the NCAA Regionals in four years. The last time was at the San Antonio regional in 2023, where they finished tenth overall and ahead of Illinois and Missouri State. During that event, Alessia Mengoni placed among the top twenty competitors with a score of 222 (+6).
The field for this year’s regional includes Florida, Wake Forest, UCLA, Florida State, Eastern Michigan, Kentucky, Purdue, Clemson, ULM, North Florida, Little Rock and UTRGV. Teams are ranked according to their latest SCOREBOARD national rankings.
Recently claiming their second Sun Belt Conference title in three years by defeating Old Dominion and Texas State in match play competition helped secure ULM’s spot at regionals. Freshman Zoe McLean-Tattan clinched victory by sinking a decisive putt on the final hole. Daniela Campillo led her team through stroke play into semifinals before tying for second place individually—her third consecutive year finishing among the top three.
Other key performances came from Anna Andrysova and Emma Manzini who tied for fourteenth place alongside McLean-Tattan; Johanna Sjursen completed her rounds with an overall score of 222 (+6). In match play against Old Dominion and Texas State during conference championships—where each player contributed points—the Warhawks secured their title after several close matches.
This season’s Sun Belt Conference win is only the second such title for ULM women’s golf program history; their first came just two years ago.
