The University of Louisiana Monroe (ULM) softball team is set to play a three-game series against Georgia State beginning Friday, April 17. The Warhawks, who currently hold a record of 29-18 overall and 11-4 in the Sun Belt Conference, will travel to Atlanta for games scheduled on Friday at 5 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m., and Sunday at 11 a.m. All games will be streamed on ESPN+ with live statistics available through ULMWarhawks.com/Stats.

This matchup continues a long-standing rivalry between the two programs, marking their 38th through 40th meetings since first facing off in 1999. ULM leads the all-time series with a record of 20-18 over Georgia State and enters this weekend riding an eleven-game win streak against the Panthers. In their last trip to Atlanta in 2024, ULM swept the series with decisive victories.

Georgia State holds an overall record of 24-22 this season and has posted four wins in conference play. Key contributors for the Panthers include McKenzie Walker, who leads her team in batting average (.413), runs (51), and stolen bases (19). Pitcher Makayla Stephens has recorded a team-best earned run average of 2.32 along with 189 strikeouts across nearly as many innings pitched.

The Warhawks are coming off another successful weekend after sweeping Appalachian State in conference play. Hollie Thomas led offensively with six hits over three games while pitchers Ashanti McDade and Skylar Waggoner limited opponents to just nine total hits across the series. Waggoner also made program history by pitching ten innings for a complete-game victory—becoming only the ninth pitcher from ULM to reach double-digit innings pitched in one game.

National rankings reflect ULM’s strong performance this season: Softball America placed them at No.13 and D1Softball ranked them No.14—the highest-ever listings for the program as they remain among mid-major leaders for a third consecutive week.

Looking ahead, after completing their road trip against Georgia State, ULM will travel again next week for its final regular-season away series against Troy beginning April 24.
