The Tulane beach volleyball team announced on Apr. 16 that it will conclude its regular season by hosting the NOLA Classic and celebrating senior day at White Sands Volleyball Courts in Elmwood, Louisiana. The two-day event begins Friday, with Tulane scheduled for three matches on the opening day and two more on Saturday.
The tournament brings together several teams, including nationally ranked No. 20 Arizona, Louisiana Monroe (ULM), New Orleans (UNO), Florida International University (FIU), and Southern Miss. Tulane enters the weekend with a record of 19-11 and is currently riding a six-dual win streak at home.
For the first time in program history, Tulane will stream a pair of duals live on ESPN+ during Friday’s matches. The Green Wave opens play against Arizona at 8:30 a.m., followed by contests against ULM at 1:30 p.m. and UNO at 4:00 p.m., both available for streaming. On Saturday morning, senior day festivities begin at 8:00 a.m., where six seniors—Amirah Ali, McKenzie Cutler, Emma Morris, Sam O’Connor, Molly Trodd, and Giorgia Walther—will be honored before matches against FIU and Southern Miss.
Key players this season include Skylar Ensign and Molly Trodd with a combined record of 23-7 between the top two flights; Emma Morris has partnered with Katie Hansen for a joint record of 19-11; Amirah Ali also holds nineteen individual wins this year while most frequently pairing with Tawny Ensign.
Last weekend saw Tulane finish with three wins out of four matches at the Blazer Beach Bash hosted by UAB—sweeping Houston Christian, Mercer, and ULM but falling narrowly to UAB itself.
Looking ahead, Tulane is set to compete in the Conference USA Championship beginning April 23 in Youngsville. The team has reached the championship dual in each of the past two seasons as runner-up but aims to secure its first title this year.
