U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) has expressed support for the Trump Administration’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) announcement regarding a proposed offshore oil and gas lease sale in the Gulf of America. The lease sale, scheduled for March 11, 2026, is the second in a series of thirty sales mandated by the Working Families Tax Cuts bill.

Senator Cassidy played a significant role in authorizing this sale through his involvement with President Trump’s Working Families Tax Cuts legislation. “I’m working with President Trump to boost American energy, lower costs, and create jobs,” said Dr. Cassidy. “That starts right here in Louisiana’s backyard—the Gulf of America.”

The BOEM aims to provide predictability by committing to a regular schedule for these sales. This move aligns with President Trump’s commitment to expand domestic energy production and reinforce U.S. energy independence.
