The Shreveport Police Department announced on Apr. 21 that an arrest warrant has been issued for Demetrius Darnell in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on December 3, 2025, in the 400 block of Apache Trail.

This development is significant as it highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address violent crime and ensure public safety within the community.

According to police, the incident took place at approximately 2:40 p.m. when officers were notified of a robbery involving a handgun. The victim was walking toward his residence with a friend and accompanied by Demetrius Darnell, who reportedly produced a firearm, pointed it at the victim, and demanded his phone. Authorities said Darnell struck the victim with the weapon before chasing him to a nearby carport where he continued to assault him and ultimately took his iPhone before fleeing.

Detectives developed probable cause during their investigation and secured an arrest warrant for armed robbery against Darnell on December 5, 2025.

The department is asking anyone with information about Darnell’s whereabouts to contact either the Shreveport Police Department or Caddo Crime Stoppers. Tipsters can remain anonymous.

“The Shreveport Police Department remains committed to identifying, locating, and apprehending violent offenders to ensure the safety of our community,” said officials in their statement.
