The Shreveport Police Department announced on May 4 that officers have arrested one habitual offender and are seeking the public’s assistance in locating another individual wanted for multiple theft-related offenses.
This update matters to residents as it highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address repeat criminal activity in the community and emphasizes the importance of public involvement in locating suspects.
According to the department, Stephen Britton was recently taken into custody on numerous charges. During their investigation, officers found Britton in possession of a firearm. Because he is a convicted felon, he is prohibited from possessing firearms and now faces additional charges related to this violation.
Detectives with the Shreveport Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit are actively searching for George Luis Escobar, who is wanted on multiple counts of theft. Warrants have been issued for his arrest, and investigators are asking for assistance from the community in finding him.
The police urge anyone with information about Escobar’s whereabouts to contact either the Shreveport Police Department or Caddo Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373. Tips can be provided anonymously.
“The Shreveport Police Department remains committed to holding repeat offenders accountable and protecting our community from those who continue to engage in criminal activity,” said officials.
