U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) met with residents from Louisiana during his “Catch Up with Cassidy” event in Washington, D.C. on April 16. The gathering brought together people from across the state to speak directly with Cassidy about issues affecting their communities.

The event gave attendees an opportunity to share concerns and priorities with their senator, reflecting a broader effort to maintain open communication between elected officials and constituents.

“Nobody knows what Louisiana needs better than the folks who live there,” said Dr. Cassidy. “These conversations give me exactly what I need to keep delivering real results for our communities.”

Participants included representatives from various organizations such as the City of Minden, Tulane University School of Medicine, AARP Louisiana, Kipp Public Schools, Louisiana BIO, Franklin Medical Center, the Small Shipyard Grant Coalition, the Mortgage Bankers Association, the Louisiana Independent Pharmacies Association, Downtown Development Districts of New Orleans and Baton Rouge, National Limousine Association, and American Traffic Safety Services Association.

Cassidy serves as chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee while also sitting on Finance; Energy and Natural Resources; and Veterans Affairs Committees according to his official website. He has worked on efforts to reduce health care costs and improve mental health systems according to his official website.
