The New Orleans Privateers announced on May 9 that their regular season finale against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi has been postponed to a 6 p.m. start because of ongoing rain in the area.

This change means the game will not be broadcast on 106.7 FM The Ticket, but live audio coverage will be available through unoprivateers.com.

The outcome of this game holds significance for the Privateers’ postseason hopes. The team needs a win, along with two losses by Houston Christian University (HCU) against Lamar, in order to qualify for the Southland tournament set to begin next Thursday. If they secure a spot, their first-round destination would depend on final standings—either Hammond, facing current top seed Southeastern, or Beaumont against second-seeded Lamar.

Lamar’s position in the standings could also shift if they achieve two wins and Southeastern suffers two losses; Lamar is scheduled for a doubleheader versus HCU on Saturday. Meanwhile, Southeastern plans to play Nicholls today and another game Sunday.

Officials advised fans to monitor updates for any further schedule changes.
