NFIB, in collaboration with the Louisiana Retailers Association, will hold small business town halls in Shreveport and Lafayette later this month. The events are scheduled for September 23 in Shreveport and September 25 in Lafayette.

“This is a great opportunity for members to learn more about what’s happening in Baton Rouge and talk to their legislators about the challenges facing their businesses,” said NFIB State Director Leah Long.

The Shreveport luncheon, which is free to attend, will take place on Tuesday, September 23. Legislators including Sen. Alan Seabaugh, Rep. Michael Echols, and Rep. Michael Melerine are expected to participate. Business owners attending the event will have an opportunity to discuss topics such as labor and employment issues that impact their operations.

The Lafayette meeting is set for Thursday, September 25. Lawmakers scheduled to attend include Rep. Josh Carlson, Rep. Troy Hebert, Rep. Annie Spell, and Sen. Mike Reese. Attendees will be able to hear directly from these legislators about developments at the state capitol.

“There is no better way to learn what’s happening in Louisiana than by talking with your legislators, and this is your chance to speak with them face-to-face about the challenges facing small business.”

Space at both events is limited; those interested are encouraged to register soon.
