A New Orleans man has pleaded guilty to producing files depicting the sexual exploitation of children as young as seven years old. Cole Diggs, also known as Kevon Godson, age 31, entered his plea on August 28, 2025, before United States District Judge Barry W. Ashe.

Court documents show that between November 2021 and December 2022, Diggs used a multimedia instant messaging application to contact at least six minors ranging in age from seven to fifteen years old. He carried out a “sextortion” scheme by pretending to be a minor, sending sexually explicit images of adults, engaging in sexually charged conversations with the victims, instructing them on how to pose and perform for explicit depictions, and using threats when the minors hesitated to continue sending images. Diggs also offered to buy and trade such depictions with others.

Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson stated: “DIGGS engaged in a scheme to obtain sexually explicit depictions of at least six minors he met via a multimedia instant messaging application that allows users to exchange pictures and videos… after the minors expressed reluctance to continue sending sexually explicit depictions, DIGGS used extortionate tactics to compel the minors to comply with his demands.”

Diggs faces a mandatory minimum prison term of fifteen years and up to thirty years. He could also receive supervised release for five years up to life, a fine of up to $250,000, and may be required to register as a sex offender. Sentencing is set for December 4, 2025.

The case was brought under Project Safe Childhood, an initiative started by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation through coordinated federal, state and local efforts. More information about Project Safe Childhood can be found at www.projectsafechildhood.gov.

U.S. Attorney Simpson praised the Federal Bureau of Investigation for its role in investigating this matter. Assistant United States Attorney Jordan Ginsberg is leading the prosecution.
