A New Orleans man has been indicted on charges of sexual abuse and sexual abuse of a minor. Kendrick White, Sr., 40, was charged by a federal grand jury on September 11, 2025. The indictment alleges that on or about November 22, 2023, White knowingly engaged in a sexual act with a fifteen-year-old female. The incident reportedly took place within the special maritime and territorial jurisdiction of the United States.

White faces up to fifteen years in prison for the first count and a maximum term of life imprisonment for the second count. He could also be sentenced to lifetime supervised release, fined up to $250,000, required to register as a sex offender, and ordered to pay a $100 mandatory special assessment fee per count.

Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson stated: “an indictment is merely a charge and that the guilt of the defendant must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.”

The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative started by the Department of Justice in May 2006 to address child sexual exploitation and abuse by coordinating efforts among federal, state, and local agencies. More information about this program can be found at www.projectsafechildhood.gov.

Simpson acknowledged the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s role in investigating the case. Assistant United States Attorney Jordan Ginsberg is leading the prosecution.
