ENRIQUE TORRES-BEIZA, also known as Enrique B. Torres, a 40-year-old Mexican national, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for illegally reentering the United States after being previously deported. The sentencing took place on August 14, 2025, according to an announcement from Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

Court documents show that Torres-Beiza was deported on December 26, 2018. He was later found unlawfully present in the country on or about October 26, 2024, while he was serving a sentence for a second offense of driving under the influence at Terrebonne Parish Jail in Terrebonne, Louisiana.

The case is part of Operation Take Back America, an initiative by the Department of Justice aimed at addressing illegal immigration and dismantling criminal organizations involved in violent crime. The operation brings together resources from the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).

Acting U.S. Attorney Simpson stated: “Acting U.S. Attorney Simpson praised the work of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency and the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office in investigating this matter.” Assistant United States Attorney Carter K.D. Guice, Jr., from the General Crimes Unit, handled the prosecution.

Torres-Beiza received one year of supervised release following his prison term and must pay a $100 special assessment fee.
