A Mexican national, Jose Guadalupe Munoz-Perez, 46, was sentenced in New Orleans for illegally using a Social Security number to obtain a Louisiana driver’s license. The sentencing took place on August 12, 2025, before United States District Judge Wendy B. Vitter.

Munoz-Perez had previously pleaded guilty to the charge under Title 42, United States Code, Section 408(a)(7)(B). He received a sentence of time served and was also ordered to serve one year of supervised release and pay a mandatory $100 special assessment fee.

Court documents state that on July 24, 2020, Munoz-Perez applied for the renewal of a Louisiana driver’s license at a Public Tag Agency in Jefferson Parish.
