A Metairie man has pleaded guilty to charges related to the possession of materials involving the sexual exploitation of minors and violating federal gun laws. The announcement was made by Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson.
Robert Anthony Marsh, Jr., 60, entered his guilty plea on August 26, 2025. Marsh admitted to possessing materials depicting the sexual victimization of minors in violation of federal law, as well as being a felon in possession of a firearm. For the charge involving sexual exploitation materials, Marsh faces a mandatory minimum sentence of ten years and up to twenty years in prison, along with possible fines and supervised release requirements. The firearm possession charge carries a maximum penalty of fifteen years imprisonment.
Court documents indicate that on December 19, 2024, state law enforcement officials and agents from Homeland Security Investigations searched Marsh’s home while he was under supervised release for a previous conviction involving juvenile pornography from 2014. During this search, authorities found over 21 videos containing child sexual abuse material and a Model 922 H&R Arms Co. firearm in Marsh’s possession.
Following the search, Louisiana State Probation and Parole arrested Marsh for illegal firearm possession and child pornography offenses. He was later transferred to federal custody as part of the ongoing investigation.
Sentencing is scheduled for November 18, 2025, before United States District Judge Darrel James Papillion.
The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative led by the Department of Justice since May 2006 that coordinates federal, state, and local efforts to address child sexual exploitation online and rescue victims. Klebba is handling prosecution duties as Project Safe Childhood Coordinator and Chief of the Financial Crimes Unit.
