The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced that crews will begin improvement work on the Interstate 10 South Frontage Road in Jennings, from LA 26 to LA 102, starting Thursday, October 2, 2025. The project is expected to continue through late October.

The planned work includes patching, milling, and an asphalt overlay. Construction activities will take place daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., during which alternating lane closures are scheduled. Drivers traveling through the area should anticipate delays.

To help manage traffic flow, motorists are advised to use the I-10 North Service Road as an alternate route while work is underway.

“DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment,” stated the department. Residents in the vicinity are also encouraged to exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near active construction zones.

For additional information about road conditions or updates on this project, drivers can call 511 or visit www.511la.org. The Louisiana 511 mobile app is also available for updates. Out-of-state travelers may call 1-888-ROAD-511 (1-888-762-3511).
