The Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry has announced its intention to amend regulations related to structural pest control. The Structural Pest Control Commission is proposing an increase in the fee for each standard contract and wood destroying insect report from $12 to $14. According to state law, the commission is authorized to set these fees by rule up to a maximum of $16.

The proposed changes were discussed and approved at a recent open meeting of the commission. In addition, a new section is being proposed that would clarify enforcement processes for both the department and the commission. This section would give the department authority to issue stop orders and notices of non-compliance as part of compliance assistance efforts.

Details about these regulatory changes were published in the December 2025 edition of the Louisiana Register (LR Vol. 51, No. 12, December 20, 2025, Pages 2122 – 2123). The full notice can be found on the Louisiana Division of Administration website.
