The Louisiana Beekeepers Association has opened applications for two scholarships aimed at supporting honey bee research in the state. The application window runs from January 1 through April 30, and recipients will be announced during May.

The Honey Bee License Plate Fund is available to graduate and postgraduate students enrolled in Louisiana postsecondary institutions who are working on applied honey bee research in collaboration with the USDA Agricultural Research Service. The Margaret Prell Memorial Fund is open to other applicants, including youth, who have an interest in honey bee research.

“Full details and eligibility requirements are available in the application materials. All applications must be submitted by April 30.”
