LA Tech Bulldogs are scheduled to play against the Liberty Flames in their second game of the Conference USA Baseball Championship on May 22 at Mickey Dunn Stadium in Kennesaw. The matchup is set for 8 a.m. Central Time.
The event holds significance as LA Tech aims to improve its postseason record after falling short in their opener, losing 14-13 to Sam Houston despite leading by six runs in the fifth inning. Since joining Conference USA in 2014, LA Tech has compiled an even record of 18 wins and 18 losses in championship games.
Liberty enters Friday’s contest following a decisive victory over Sam Houston, powered by strong offensive innings that included multiple home runs. Meanwhile, LA Tech pitcher Declan Dahl reached a milestone during Wednesday’s game, becoming only the ninth player in program history with at least 100 strikeouts and achieving this mark faster than any previous Bulldog pitcher.
The high-scoring nature of LA Tech’s tournament opener marked it as one of the most prolific postseason games for the team since their appearance against Dallas Baptist on May 26, 2024. The Bulldogs’ offense also recorded its highest run total since defeating Charlotte last year.
Earlier this season, LA Tech won its series against Liberty on the road by taking two out of three games without trailing through much of those contests. As both teams prepare for Friday’s game, fans are encouraged to support Louisiana Tech Athletics through various programs and follow updates via social media channels.
