Senator John Kennedy (R-La.) issued a statement recognizing the 2026 March for Life in Washington, D.C. He welcomed participants, particularly those from Louisiana, and thanked them for their involvement.

“I want to welcome the tens of thousands of pro-life Americans marching in Washington, D.C., today. Thanks for coming, especially those who traveled here from Louisiana.

“In Louisiana, we believe all life is precious. All life. Whether a person is 87 years old or 87 seconds old, everyone—all of us—were made in the image of God. You don’t need to be religious, like I am, to know this. All you have to do is watch a baby dance on an ultrasound or hold a newborn in your arms, and you will know, not just in your head, but in your heart, that every single life is precious.

“Too many elected officials ignore this reality. They describe human beings as ‘clumps of cells’ to justify barbaric practices, including abortion up to the point of birth. But you know—and I know—the truth, and your fearless calls to defend those lives do not go unnoticed.

“So, thank you so much for standing strong against abortion. Thank you so much for standing strong for life. Please pray for our country, for our unborn babies, and for their courageous mothers. May God bless you all and keep you safe during this March for Life.”

Senator Kennedy has received an A+ rating on the Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America National Scorecard due to his efforts supporting anti-abortion policies.

He recently worked with Senator Ashley Moody (R-Fla.) on the Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act. This legislation aims to protect minors and reinforce parental rights when minors travel across state lines for abortion services.

In addition to this bill, Kennedy introduced several other pieces of legislation during the 119th Congress related to abortion policy:

– The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act would require healthcare providers to give infants who survive abortions the same care as any other child born at that gestational age.
– The No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act seeks to establish a permanent federal ban on taxpayer funding for abortions.
– The Protecting Life and Integrity in Research Act would prohibit federal support or approval of research involving aborted fetal tissue.
– The Protecting Life in Foreign Assistance Act aims to codify restrictions on funding foreign organizations that perform or promote abortions.

Kennedy represents Louisiana in the United States Senate and maintains offices throughout the state as well as one in Washington, D.C., according to his official website. He leads the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs and serves on committees related to appropriations, budget matters and energy policy [source]. Kennedy’s work includes initiatives benefiting veterans, farmers and small businesses while maintaining contact with constituents through public events [source].
