Senator John Kennedy (R-La.), who serves on the Senate Appropriations Committee, has secured $1.05 million in federal funds for the construction of a new fire station in Zachary, Louisiana. The funding comes as part of the Fiscal Year 2026 Agriculture appropriations bill.
The project aims to improve emergency services and fire protection coverage for residents of Zachary and the surrounding region. It is part of more than $300 million that Kennedy has obtained for various projects across Louisiana during FY 2026.
“When danger strikes, our firefighters don’t hesitate—they run straight toward it. They deserve the right tools to do their jobs and come home safe. This new fire station will strengthen emergency response in Zachary and ensure our first responders are ready to protect lives, homes, and businesses when seconds matter most,” Kennedy said.
The City of Zachary will receive this funding through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Housing Service under the Rural Community Facilities Program.
Senator Kennedy represents Louisiana in the United States Senate and operates offices throughout the state to support constituents with federal matters, according to his official website.
