The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office announced on May 18 the arrest of David Wayne Fontenot following a search that led to the discovery of illegal narcotics at his residence.
Authorities said Fontenot had an active warrant for probation and parole. During their visit, agents asked Fontenot if he possessed any illegal narcotics, which he denied. However, agents observed two glass meth smoking pipes in plain view on a nightstand. Permission was granted for a search of the residence.
Agents reported finding a bottle containing 3.12 grams of marijuana, two meth smoking pipes, .51 grams of methamphetamines in one pipe, and .47 grams in another pipe. Additionally, they located a medicine bottle with 1.21 grams of methamphetamines. Fontenot was arrested and charged with one count under statute 40:967C related to methamphetamines.
