The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced progress on repairs to bridges in Terrebonne Parish, with expanded access hours and projected reopening dates.

Phase 1 repairs on the Bayou Dularge Bascule Bridge on LA 315 are expected to finish today. The bridge will reopen for limited vehicle use starting Wednesday, October 1. On weekdays, vehicles can cross overnight until 8:30 a.m., from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., from 12:45 p.m. to 1:15 p.m., and again from 4:30 p.m. through the next morning at 8:30 a.m. There will be no restrictions on weekends.

DOTD plans for Phase 2 repairs to be completed by Friday, October 10, after which normal operations are set to resume.

Repairs already completed on the Bayou Dularge Bascule Bridge include installing steel beams, performing concrete work, and adding new steel rods.

On the Bayou Blue Pontoon Bridge (LA 316), significant structural work has also been finished. DOTD estimates that this bridge will reopen by October 10 if weather conditions allow. Work done includes recasting the pivot pier with concrete, reconditioning apron assemblies, and replacing gate arms and electrical switches. Electrical system testing is ongoing.

DOTD reminds drivers to exercise caution near construction sites for the safety of workers and equipment.
