Louisiana is set to receive over $34.5 million from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to aid in recovery and emergency preparedness efforts following Hurricanes Laura, Ida, and Francine. The announcement was made by U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy.

The funds will be used to reimburse local governments, utilities, and state agencies for costs related to permanent repairs, emergency measures, and management expenses incurred as a result of the hurricanes.

Senator Cassidy emphasized the importance of restoring essential services after major storms. “After a storm hits, families need their hospitals, schools, and power restored quickly,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding gets Louisiana back on its feet and ready for the next storm.”
