Louisiana is set to receive over $22.5 million from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to support runway reconstruction at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. The funding will be used for the final phase of rebuilding Runway 02/20, which measures 7,002 feet in length.

The grant comes through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which was supported by U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA).

“MSY is the front door to Louisiana for millions of visitors each year,” said Dr. Cassidy. “Rebuilding this runway keeps New Orleans open for business, for Mardi Gras, and for all the people who fly here to enjoy our food, music, and culture.”

The project aims to improve airport infrastructure and maintain access for travelers coming to New Orleans.
