U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) has announced that fire departments and emergency responders in Louisiana will receive nearly $4.9 million through the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant program. The funding is intended for purchasing equipment, upgrading protective gear, improving training, and acquiring emergency vehicles.

“Firefighters run toward, not away, from danger,” said Dr. Cassidy. “We owe them the gear, training, and equipment needed to keep themselves and our communities safe.”

The Assistance to Firefighters Grant program is a federal initiative that supports local fire departments and first responders by providing financial resources for essential needs.
