U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy spoke to the Turning Point USA chapter at Louisiana State University on October 2, 2025. During his remarks, he paid tribute to Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, and emphasized the importance of continuing to promote conservative values in Washington.

“Charlie Kirk inspired students to defend freedom, faith, and the values that America was built on,” said Dr. Cassidy. “It’s up to us to carry that legacy forward in Louisiana and across America.”

Mark Schoeppel, Director of Recruitment and Outreach for LSU’s Turning Point USA chapter, expressed gratitude for Cassidy’s participation in their meeting. “We had a terrific time hosting Senator Cassidy at our meeting,” said Mr. Schoeppel. “At a moment where discourse is invaluable, we greatly appreciate the Senator taking time to discuss crucial issues with constituents and young conservatives.”

The event focused on political engagement among students and maintaining open dialogue about important issues.
