The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office announced on May 11 the arrest of Jared Marcus Wiggins, 31, in connection with a home invasion and armed robbery that took place on July 7, 2025, on Violet Street near Labadieville.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to a call reporting that multiple suspects had forced entry into a residence and held occupants at gunpoint while robbing them and stealing items from the home. Responding deputies collected evidence including clothing, firearms, and electronics from the scene.
Sheriff Leland Falcon said detectives identified several suspects through an extensive investigation. Warrants for Jared Marcus Wiggins of St. James and Kendell Michael Gale, 27, of Vacherie were secured on May 4. Wiggins was arrested by the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office on May 8 before being transferred to Assumption Parish custody where he was booked into the detention center on charges of armed robbery, home invasion, and four counts of false imprisonment with a dangerous weapon. He remains incarcerated without bond.
Authorities also determined that Kendell Michael Gale is currently incarcerated at Terrebonne Parish Correctional Facility. A detainer has been placed for his transfer to Assumption Parish upon release from Terrebonne Parish custody. Gale faces charges identical to those brought against Wiggins: armed robbery, home invasion, and four counts of false imprisonment while armed with a dangerous weapon.
