Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon announced on May 18 the arrest of Kevin Truehill, age 42, of Napoleonville, Louisiana, on several felony arrest warrants and two additional warrants for failure to appear in court regarding felony drug and gun law violations.
The case is significant as it involves an ongoing narcotics investigation targeting illegal drug activity. According to the sheriff’s office, a search warrant was executed at Truehill’s residence at 105 Kennedy Street near Napoleonville on February 13 as part of this investigation. During the search, agents seized crack cocaine and various drug paraphernalia. At that time, Truehill was not present at the residence.
Sheriff Falcon said there were numerous outstanding felony arrest warrants for Truehill when narcotics agents obtained further warrants related to the drug seizure. The sheriff’s office entered his information into the National Crime Information Center as a wanted person.
Truehill was arrested by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office in Texas on April 30. He waived extradition proceedings and was released to Assumption Parish authorities on May 15. He was then booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center with charges including possession of crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, cruelty to juveniles with force or violence, battery of a dating partner, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, simple criminal damage to property, failure to appear for counts involving possession of controlled dangerous substances and obstruction of justice, as well as failure to appear for counts involving possession or carrying a concealed weapon by a convicted felon.
Truehill remains incarcerated with bond set at $145,000.
